We are a professional and friendly team of enthusiastic ecologists who thrive on innovation and delivering high quality output to our clients. follow us on Linkedin  https://www.linkedin.com/company/aspect-ecology-ltd-/ About the Role You would be an Assistant Ecologist/Ecologist, working within the ecology team, undertaking a range of field survey work for habitats and faunal species (e.g. bats, Badger, GCN, reptiles, Otter, Water Vole, and nesting birds) across the UK. You will also carry out background research, manage and analyse field survey data, carrying out interpretation and writing technical reports. About You As a key member of the team, the following skills and experience are considered essential to the role:
  • A relevant degree and/or postgraduate qualification, with a strong academic ability and record;
  • A sound background in or enthusiasm for natural history and familiarity with UK flora and fauna;
  • Some experience with UK botanical and/or faunal identification and survey work;
  • A broad understanding of UK wildlife legislation;
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment, with effective teamwork and excellent communication skills;
  • Full driving licence and own car, insured for business use.

Due to the ongoing success and expansion of the business, Aspect Ecology has a number of exciting opportunities for recently graduated / post graduate candidates to start their career in ecological consultancy, assisting with surveys and translocations on an exciting range of challenging and interesting projects About the Role You would be a Field Ecologist, working under the direction of the Field Work Co-ordination and Ecology team, undertaking a range of field surveys for faunal species, including bats, reptiles and great crested newts, together with translocations and potential for work with other protected species. In particular, we have new reptile translocations commencing in Poole, Dorset and Cambridge and would be very pleased to hear from applicants near to these locations to assist with this work. We would also be pleased to hear from applicants close to our office in Banbury, and across Kent and the South-East that may be able to assist with our ongoing surveys. We have opportunities available immediately, with surveys continuing until September/October 2019. You will be required to work up to five days per week, with opportunities for weekend work as well. About You As an important member of the team, the following skills, experience, and attitude are considered essential to the role:
  • A flexible and enthusiastic approach;
  • Willingness to work ‘ecological hours’ and travel;
  • Confidence to work with reptiles and amphibians (training provided);
  • A broad understanding of UK wildlife legislation and a keen interest in Natural History;
  • Full driving licence and own car, insured for business use.
Previous experience of conducting surveys for protected species is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. Having a CSCS card is also desirable but not crucial. Wages are paid at an hourly rate (commensurate with your experience). B&B / hotel accommodation will be provided, where required, and all business mileage / subsistence will be reimbursed on a monthly basis. Chartered Landscape Architect, Senior Landscape Architect

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic qualified landscape architect (CMLI) with strong experience in report writing and LVIA’s. Candidates will have at least 5 years’ experience working as a landscape architect, ideally within the landscape planning sector, with experience of working on a variety of projects both large and small scale. You will be expected to take an active role within the team assisting the Director and Associate Director and supporting the junior members and graphics team. Candidates will be involved in all aspects of the planning stages from inception through design development and preparation of LVIA’s, to discharging landscape related conditions and preparation of detailed designs. Whilst the role will involve LVIA report writing, the practice has a varied workload and you will gain a wide variety of experience on concept design, masterplanning, public open space, green infrastructure and detailed hard and soft design. The post would suit someone with excellent written and communication skills with an eye for detail who is looking to advance their career and be part of a close knit team. Candidates will be expected to have good working knowledge of Office, AutoCAD and Adobe Photoshop/Creative Suite, excellent report writing and communication skills, and be a team worker. Experience in Keyscape or SketchUp will be an advantage, as is a good working plant knowledge. We offer a relaxed, friendly and vibrant working environment within an open plan office working alongside our Arboriculture team. Very competitive salary (dependent on experience), pension, career development and mentoring/ CPD opportunities as appropriate. A degree and/or post graduate qualification in Landscape Architecture is essential and the candidate will be a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI).
